When it says "waiting" it means that your game has started a server and is waiting for a client to connect. If nobody enters the café while you're waiting, nothing will happen. |

We will have another look at this. But the networking code on our side is very simple. And it always works when we test it. We will try to find a unity networking expert to assist us. |

Could it depend on firewalls? |

I have just purchased this game on steam and seem to be experiencing the same problem.
Can you please let us know what port(s) the game uses to communicate? Thank you.
>> Edit >>
I did some debugging and found that the game appears to be using UDP port 25002.
Gonna try to add that to my forwards and knock that out as a possible issue.
>> Second Edit >>
So that seemed to have fixed it! But then somebody came in and sat down and then left?? Three times on me! Still have not really got to meet anybody.. |

I just bought this game in the steam store and had the exact same issue. I have Kapersky antivirus. I had to go into there and check that it is a trusted program with trusted connections.
Some antiviruses are overly paranoid. You may even have to totally disable your antivirus while playing.
Hope this helps.
Thank you,

That could just be people leaving. It took me a whole week to finally see someone.
Be patient, eventually people will come and stay. It's well worth it. |

As grimm said... have some patience and it'll pay off. I've had people come and go numerous times. I've also had great fun with those who stay.
I still have no clue why people sit and go. It's not speed chess. |

Thank you all for your patient testing and reporting. I do hope we can pinpoint the problem one day and fix this once and for all.
For your information, we are using the Unity engine's networking functionality with very little customization. It is programmed through Antares Universe. Networking always works perfectly for us, in our studio. |

Hey, guys. Greetings from the States. Love what you've done with this game; would love to sample the rest of your catalog if there's anything Mac OS X compatible.
I am very sad to report that the connectivity issue persists in the cafe when searching for a partner. First couple of days, it simply told me that that network connection failed, but now it simply hangs forever. No firewall settings currently in place, though I am connected through secure wi-fi. Issue persists on multiple networks.
Anyway, hope this helps. Keep at it. I'm very eager to see what you guys produce in the future. |

Maybe you should make host search easier. If I become the host I'll have to start a simulation and quit it (either pressing B to connect or going out the café) to look for other hosts again. |

Hi guys... Any news on the matter ?
My boyfriend and I are both staring sadly at the "en recherche d'un partenaire" screen simultaneously and we're quite disappointed not to be able to play together :/
also, neither of us can meet other people
we gave full permission to the game within the firewall but it still doesnt work :/
we have also tried various combinations of playing on the in-browser unity version at http://tale-of-tales.com/bientotlete/ simultaneously, or one game/one browser. I only succeeded in playing with myself, browser+game.
help ? |

We have created an update to the game that should improve networking. If you have purchased the game from us, simply request a new download link via email. The Steam version will be updated as well soon. |
